Ololosokwan Village Apiaries

Members of the Namelok Group in Ololosokwan manage 4 apiary sites distributed across the sub-villages of Ololosokwan, Tanzania. Each sub-village has its own beekeeping group, for managing their apiary site. In total, the sites hold over 200 Langstroth hives.

At each apiary site there is a “bee cage” - a durable structure designed to protect the hives, while allowing the bees to fly naturally. Bee cages protect the hives from extreme weather elements, wild animals, and any curious passersby.
