Contributions from our generous supporters help to further the initiatives of Maasai Honey. Funds allow us to expand our apiaries, conduct valuable trainings, and acquire necessary equipment. The addition of hives supports our honeybee conservation efforts and also increases our capacity to reach more under-served villagers. Maasai Honey is a registered NGO in Tanzania with support from non-profit organizations in the USA; all donations to Maasai Honey are tax deductible, as allowed by United States law.

What are donations used for?
Funds collected through charitable donations are used to support the beekeeping & outreach activities of Maasai Honey. Money may be allocated towards:
Purchasing equipment such as protective gear, hive tools, and bee smokers.
Funding educational outreach in beekeeping.
Purchasing new beehives, which allows for increased honey production and project growth.
Improving and expanding our production facilities.

Whats HAPPENING at Maasai Honey?
We have just conducted our first two-week training course! Twelve participants were trained in theoretical and practical beekeeping lessons, while also equipped with modern beekeeping gear. Future trainings will allow us to train even more local villagers.
We are in the process of constructing a production space specifically for our byproducts - soap, candles, salves, and lip balm. The project involves building changing rooms, shelves, tables, and storage spaces within the room.
We have aspirations to build our own hives! In the long term, this will reduce costs for Maasai Honey, increase quality of hives, and create more sustainability for the beekeeping activities. Still, tools and a power generator are needed to make this possible.
